What you do

Click to place blocks on an irregular grid; the game turns them into houses, arches, stairs and gardens automatically.

Who it suits

Anyone, including children and people who never play games. Perfect on a phone or a sofa.

01First evening

You click once and a little house appears on the water. Click again and it grows a roof; stack a few and you have a lighthouse and a bridge.

02A few weeks in

It does not change much over weeks, and that is fine. It is a toy you come back to when you want ten quiet minutes.

03When to stop

There is no end, so stop when your town looks right. A good tea-break game.

Why it works

  • Instant calm
  • Cheap and on many platforms
  • Lovely surprises in the generation

Watch out for

  • Very little to do beyond building
  • No goals
